Sean Flood is an Associate Patent Attorney at RIPLO, admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  Sean is also admitted to practice at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC).

Sean received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, in Arlington, Virginia, where he completed Mason’s rigorous Intellectual Property track and Litigation sequence. While at Mason Law, Sean participated in the Patent Application Legal Clinic, the Giles S. Rich Moot Court and was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society.

Sean earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from George Mason University, concentrating on microelectronics applications and design, including semiconductor devices and embedded systems.  Sean has also earned a B.A. in International Studies and French from High Point University, North Carolina, where he graduated summa cum laude, was named the Outstanding Senior in Modern Foreign Language and was awarded a scholarship to complete a certificate program at the Centre d'Etudes Internationales et Européennes, Université de Strasbourg, France.

Prior to joining RIPLO, Sean was employed as an Oracle DBA and programmer for MCI and as Lead Software Developer for HLP Associates, and is skilled in network and data management, digital communications, hardware architecture and software programming.  Sean is a member of the IEEE professional association and the American Bar Association (Intellectual Property section), and is enrolled in the ABA committees on Patent Legislation, Patent Trademark Office Affairs and International Patent Treaties and Laws.
